Career Advancement is pleased to award $5,000 Environmental Justice Fellowship Grants to students to conduct independent research, or a summer project related to creating a solution to address environmental justice in the Chicago-area. This opportunity will culminate in a virtual competition at the end of the summer where selected students will present their project to a panel of judges. One project will be selected for an additional $5,000 prize to put towards implementing their solution.
Example projects may include developing a device that easily monitors and reports lead levels in drinking water, creating an app that connects community members with resources for addressing climate change, producing policy recommendations related to air quality and much more. Solutions should include and highlight any current and future community partnerships and engagement.
