The Science of Sustainability Speaker Series is organized by the Science, Art, and Sustainability project group of the Phoenix Sustainability Initiative (PSI), a student organization at the University of Chicago, and aims to highlight perspectives on recent developments in climate science and ecology through presentations from working scientists who research different facets of the series theme, “Environmental Change and Ecological Consequences.” These lectures are designed with a broad audience in mind, so anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. Each session will consist of an introduction to the general area of research, an overview of the scientist’s particular research, and a question and answer period in which audience members are encouraged to participate.

Lectures are Tuesdays at 6 CT via Zoom. Register for the speaker series here.

The speaker for May 18 will be Dr. Shannon Nangle from Harvard University, who will discuss bioplastic engineering.
